Anaheim has a special place in our hearts as Nate Morrissey, the owner of Blue Sky Estate Services, had his first job at 17 working for Disneyland. He enjoyed the summer working there until his car was stolen out of the employee parking lot. To this day he likes to joke about how his car got stolen at the “Happiest Place On Earth”.
As of the 2019, the city has a population of 352,497, making it the most populous city in Orange County and the 10th-most populous city in California. Anaheim is the second-largest city in Orange County in terms of land area, and is known for being the home of the Disneyland Resort, the Anaheim Convention Center, and two major sports teams: the Anaheim Ducks ice hockey club and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball team.
Anaheim was founded by fifty German families in 1857 and incorporated as the second city in Los Angeles County on March 18, 1876, Orange County would later be split off from Los Angeles County in 1889. Anaheim remained largely an agricultural community until Disneyland opened in 1955. This led to the construction of several hotels and motels around the area, and residential districts in Anaheim soon followed. Nate was a lifesaver for me, as well as my family. As a co-trustee for our parent's estate, I was tasked with the clean out of their home....a 5 bedroom, 3 bath, 3 car garage, where they had resided for over 50 years. Their home was filled with treasures, collectibles and junk, some of which had never been unpacked since we moved to CA in 1960. Nate connected me with a clean out company, an estate liquidation specialist, and a realtor. And, of great importance, he connected us with Kim Yang, a realtor who specializes in selling homes that need updating but are selling more in the 'as is' condition! I contacted Nate Morrissey to see about finishing up clearing out my dad's Anaheim house now that he's in assisted living. Even though the job was not beneficial for Nate to pursue, he provided invaluable information about folks who would help both for donations of large items and for complete clearing of miscellaneous items. Both of these contacts worked out wonderfully, saving me many headaches trying to get the house prepared to sell quickly.
