Our Story: Born out of Personal Experience
In 2005, a tragic aircraft accident off the coast of Southern California claimed the life of my close friend and mentor, Dan. I still vividly remember the night I received the call about his death—it’s one of those moments you never forget. I was left utterly speechless.
In the aftermath, I became a pillar of support for Dan’s wife, Zandra, and their three young children. Together, we faced the challenges of this heartbreaking loss. I stood by her side as the wreckage was pulled from the ocean, helped coordinate Dan’s celebration of life, and raised nearly $30,000 in donations. I gave one of the eulogies, and up until that point, I hadn’t shed a tear, wondering if or when it would all hit me.
That moment came on the drive home. As soon as I got into the car with my wife, the emotions poured out—tears streaming down my face as we drove down the freeway. It was then, in that raw and emotional moment, that I shared with her my newfound purpose: to start a company dedicated to helping families navigate the overwhelming challenges that come after the loss of a loved one. I didn’t yet know how I’d make it happen, but I knew it was the path I was meant to take.
Based on a Genuine Desire to Help
Helping my friend’s family through such a challenging time was deeply rewarding, and it inspired me to take on that role for others. Out of this desire to support families with estate liquidations, estate sales, and content removal services, Blue Sky Estate Services was born.
I named the company Blue Sky Estate Services because, as a pilot, the image of blue skies holds a special meaning for me. It symbolizes calm and clarity after a storm—just the kind of reassurance and guidance we strive to provide for families facing loss or other life transitions.
